Bekel A.S. produces condensers for refrigerators since 1986 in Eskisehir Industrial Zone-Turkey. The philosophy of exceeding customer expectations is ingrained from the beginning. In 1997, a new plant investment tailored for condenser was established. The new plant utilizes state of the art automated production methods. This technical capacity and high quality paved the way for supplying the production needs for wire on tube condensers of Arcelik, the market leader in Turkey. Bekel A.S. has concentrated on coil-type condensers and prepared new production lines in 2001. Bekel A.S. is still the largest condenser manufacturer in Turkey with an annual capacity of 1,5 million pieces. To certify the quality system that was established since the foundation, Bekel A.S. applied for and received the ISO 9002 certification. For further growth export markets were targeted in year 2001. Bekel A.S. aims to be a partner in tailored solutions to its customers starting from products design to finished products. In the products design stage the design for manufacturing (DFM) principles are applied to achieve low material cost and robustness for different lines are built in to first stages of the design. The most suitable tubes, wires, paints and accessories are sourced utilizing the in depth industry experience in the refrigeration field. The production takes place in the modern plants via automated machinery and comparative labor cost advantage. The manufacturing process is controlled by a continuous improvement philosophy assured with the ISO 9002 certification. The 6-sigma tools like statistical process control and design of experiment are widely utilized for optimized results and zero defects. The planning and production systems are flexible for rapid adoption to changes and better supply chain performance for the customers. With the current customers the fulfillment system is pulled via just-in-time schedules like kanban where the customer almost operates with zero inventory.
